LIVING LABS
A living laboratory within a Biosphere Reserve
Anaga Biofest is more than a festival. It is a living laboratory, a space where nature, culture, science, community and creativity come together to imagine new ways of living in and relating to a place that is both precious and fragile, where nature and local life go hand in hand.
Every trail, every artistic intervention, every regenerative action and every encounter with the community seeks to leave a positive and lasting impact on Anaga. We do not come here merely to observe the landscape. We come to listen to it, understand it and become part of it.
Three complementary areas of work structure the project’s impact beyond the festival calendar: environmental regeneration, sociocultural regeneration and cultural experimentation. Each edition leaves behind lessons, alliances and projects that endure.

At Anaga Biofest we understand nature as a living environment that needs to be protected and restored through collective action. We do not just seek to reduce our footprint. We seek to improve a place we walk through and feel as our own.

SOCIOCULTURAL REGENERATION
Caring for the stories, knowledge and living memory
Anaga is not just landscape. It is also a living, inhabited territory shaped by memories, trades, traditions and a community life that deserves to be heard, shared and strengthened. Anaga Biofest works to ensure that this intangible heritage is not lost, but renewed and passed on.
The twinning partnerships between Biosphere Reserves are one of the project’s most distinctive lines. A network that grows, edition after edition, island by island, fostering real exchanges between communities from La Palma, Lanzarote & La Graciosa, Gran Canaria, El Hierro, Fuerteventura and, in 2026, La Gomera.

LABA · Artistic laboratory for cultural experimentation
Art, territory and creation in motion
LABA is the cultural experimentation space of Anaga Biofest. An open laboratory where artists, creative collectives and local communities in the territory to explore new forms of creation linked to landscape, memory and rural transformations. Here, art is not decorativa. It becomes a tool for listening, research and connection.
Sound laboratory
ANAGA, AYER Y MAÑANA
A listening experience that captures the sounds of the territory: the wind through the laurel forest, the voices of the hamlets, the traditional occupations and skillsdes that endure. A living sound archive that connects landscape and memory.
Anaga Ilustrada
artist residencies
Artists in residence who engage with the territory and its communities through Interventions, installations and creative processes born from Anaga that generate new narratives about landscape and rurality.
Educational creation
TRAMA
Submitted to a Ministry of Culture call for proposals, TRAMA connects schools in the Macizo with artistic creation processes linked to the territory. A project in development with significant growth potential in 2027.
