Detalles de la actividad

Visit inside the Barranco (ravine) del Río, at the hamlet of El Batán, previously known as the “River of Anaga”. Its waters may not flow today as they used to, but what does remain is an essential activity that used to be typical of this area – linen production. This was carried out by the towns women for many years, and gives the area its name (batan in Spanish comes from the verb to beat). A rural setting where the land has had many different uses over time, including a unique winegrowing culture. This activity will tell the story of this legacy, in an effort to recover and preserve its history, with involvement from the neighbours’ association and the modern continuation of these traditional techniques by rural women today.

  • 15€ per person (includes complementary activities).
  • Optional picnic from Buscándome Las Habichuelas, with local, organic products (4€/person), including the following: tuna, lemon, and ginger pie, pastries with strawberry jam, an assortment of small sandwiches with artisan bread and vegetable pate.
